December 2025

Read for your rising sign.

The new year, as we know it today, is an arbitrary concept tied to the Gregorian calendar. For ancient people the most important date was actually the Winter Solstice.

This year there is a potent new Moon on December 19th in the sign of Sagittarius right before the Winter Solstice. Very simply put, the new Moon symbolizes new beginnings and in this case, new beginnings in the new solar year.

These Horoscopes explore the intrigue, excitement, and commitment of new beginnings in the new year and how they relate to the whole sign house in your birth chart where the new Moon occurs.

Aries

The best way to start something new is to be realistic with yourself about what you actually have time for. Then take that commitment and cut it in half. That is probably what you can actually sustain in the long run. Better to do a little consistently than a lot inconsistently.

Taurus

Sometimes the right person comes along at the right time to help us get a leg up in life. It seems like luck but if you go back and look at the choices and events that led up to that moment, I’d bet you’d think otherwise. With a new year coming up, try and remember those small choices and I bet you will look back on 2026 as a prosperous year.

Gemini

A wise woman once told me, “marriage is not 50% and 50%. It is 100% and 100%.” Meaning that each person is responsible for showing up in the relationship with a 100% of themselves. In other words, everyday is a new beginning to a new year. If you need a New Year’s resolution this year, make it ‘to show up 100% every day’.

Cancer

The one thing that you always hear from people who have done great things is that they often wanted to quit and didn’t feel motivated to keep going. They also say that they knew if they could just get themselves out the door all that resistance would fall away. Make it a goal to just get started and you will be amazed at what you have the courage to accomplish.

Leo

The Artist’s Way, The War of Art, The Creative Act; all these timeless classics of artistic expression have the same theme, don’t wait for inspiration to strike! Or to quote, Steven Pressfield, author of The War of Art, “put your ass where your heart wants to be!” I think you get the message.

Virgo

The roots of a tree grow towards where there are nutrients and water. There is a simple but powerful lesson there. If it doesn’t nourish you then don’t keep putting your energy into it. We all need support to thrive but sometimes it is up to us to move in that direction.

Libra

Is the mind a transmitter or a receiver? I’m not convinced we really know but what is clear is that ideas do seem to come out of thin air. Furthermore, for an idea to become manifest one must take action. Everything we see in our human world started as an idea. What’s an idea you have that simply needs action for it to come to life?

Scorpio

This potent new Moon is happening in your 2nd house of money and the resources that support you. If you are feeling like you need a fresh start around these topics now is a good time. The universe will be there to support you!

Sagittarius

Most New Year’s resolutions are about the self. Lucky for you, this year there is an extra wide doorway to usher yourself into a successful attempt at some self improvement. The wind is at your back but remember it will still be up to you to set sail.

Capricorn

Subconsciously we know what is best for ourselves, but it is our job to listen to that inner voice guiding us forward. Once you hear the call, take action! Life can be hard at times but try and remember you do have an extra helper and the support it offers is already a part of you.

Aquarius

The amazing thing about Aquarius is that it is an air sign and air is associated with the mind, communication, and thoughts. Aquarians are good at getting their minds aligned with their actions. So whatever you wish to bring forth in this new year, don’t forget this super power and you will have no problem turning your dreams into reality.

Pisces

Whether you have a career, are retired, or just getting started, how you present yourself to the world has a lot to say about who you are. I’m not saying you need to put on a suit and tie to dig a ditch but if don’t want to be digging ditches, you may need to change something about how you show up in the world. Also, there is nothing wrong with digging ditches. So whatever it is, lace up your boots and get to work!
