March 2024

These horoscopes are specific to your rising sign. Your rising sign is the zodiac sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at the time of your birth. If you don’t know your rising sign you can go to astro-seek.com and look up your birth chart. Your rising sign is the sign that occupies the 1st house in your natal chart. This approach is derived from Hellenistic Astrology. Hellenistic Astrology originated in ancient Egypt and was practiced throughout the Greek speaking Roman Empire from 200 BCE-600 AD. It has been brought back into practice with the recent translation of many ancient astrological texts. It is more closely related to Indian or Vedic astrology than modern Western Sun-sign astrology.

The following horoscopes are specific to the Lunar eclipse, happening March 25th in the zodiac sign of Libra, and the Solar eclipse, happening April 8th in the zodiac sign of Aries. Eclipses happen across an axis in the zodiac in signs that oppose each other. Thus, these will explore the dichotomy of the topics of the houses they occur in.

Aries: 1st house / 7th house axis

Self vs Other

Being in right relationship with yourself can be hard. Being in right relationship with others around you can be very hard. Sometimes the easiest way to self individuation is to just take a big step to the left, focus on your own self generated creative power and move through the ups and downs of life the best you know how. The other people in your life who love you will still be there and if they are not, honestly, you are probably better off without them!

Taurus: 12th house / 6th house axis

Secrets vs Servitude

Like the seed that leaps forth from the ground on a warm Spring day, most of the hard work in life is actually done completely hidden from view. Imagine you wake one morning to realize you’ve been marooned on a desert island. Your real problem now is what are you actually going to do about it? Are you going to crawl into a cave and live out your days talking to your shadow or are you going to set out the SOS and hope a passerby rescues you? Either choice is fine, ultimately it’s your life, but just don’t let what is hidden from you pass you by.

Gemini: 11th house / 5th house axis

Dreams vs Pleasure

A mirror is a good tool for self care. It’s also a vicious tool of self criticism. The fact is that the people who have “done the work” are the most enjoyable people to be around because they don’t project their stuff onto everyone else. As Walt Wittman said, “I contain multitudes.” So, before a friend or worse, your kid says, “I remember when you used to be fun.” Ask yourself, “Am I doing the work?” Whatever they may look like for you.

Cancer: 10th house / 4th house axis

Visible vs Invisible

Nurturing oneself can be the work of a lifetime. Or it can just be a daily habit! You go to work (or you used to) almost everyday. You have bills to pay and groceries to buy. Maybe you like your job? Maybe not? What is actually important is that you learn to like yourself, or at the very least accept yourself more deeply. Nobody is promising this will make your boss or your family like you any better, but at least you’ll be the captain of your own ship!

Leo: 9th house / 3rd house axis

Beliefs vs Befuddlement

You know it is going to get spicy when the Sun (ruler of your rising sign and exaltation ruler of Aries) is zeroed in on the total solar eclipse happening in April. It’s looking like nothing short of a spiritual awakening is afoot. At the very least an exciting vacation and at the most your long lost sibling sends you a letter in the mail. They are in Nepal, they are a Monk, they are sorry, and will you please come visit. After a 26 hour flight and 13 hour bus ride you arrive to realize that Ram Dass was right, “If you think you are enlightened, spend a weekend with your family.”

Virgo: 8th house / 2nd house axis

Feast vs Famine

If you were caught in the farmers field back in the day that could be a real problem. But depending on how hungry you were the risk might well have been worth the reward. Today if you find yourself between a rock and a hard place just ask yourself if you’ll have a clean conscience in the morning? If the answer is yes, then it’s not up to others what is right and what is wrong for you. If the answer is no, then make a better decision.

Libra: 7th house / 1st house axis

Fact vs Fiction

It may be easy to get swept away by the rise and fall of our relationships with others. Knowing when you are living your story vs someone else’s version of your story will be your ticket to ride this eclipse season. As Ken Kesey said, “If you’re on the bus, and you get left behind, you’ll find it again.” So, the real question is, are you on the bus AND whose bus is it you are on anyway?

Scorpio: 6th house / 12th house axis

Hard Work vs Hidden Work

Are you working too hard for the service of others for hidden reasons you may not be able to put your finger on? Now would be the time to muster up your strength and go look under that rock you always thought might have buried treasure under it. There might actually be something under there…or you might just get bit by a snake. But do nothing, and the slow drip of time may eat away at you wondering what might have been?

Sagittarius: 5th house / 11th house axis

Creativity vs Culture

There’s the spark, there’s the fire, and then there’s the wildfire. . . of creativity! When inspiration strikes make sure to tend to it and it may just turn dreams into reality. Whether that is your art, a beautiful day with friends and family, or the pleasure of a job well done just make sure you knowwhen enough is enough. Too much of a good thing is a bad thing!

Capricorn: 4th house / 10 house axis

Home vs Work

Finding a balance between family and work seems to be on everybody’s mind but with an ever increasing supply of visible distractions it has become easier than ever to neglect the most invisible things in your life. These might be your family's emotional needs or just the fact that you really need a nap!

Aquarius: 3rd house / 9th house axis

Familiar vs Foreign

Everyone has opinions about just about everything these days. Whether you share those opinions with other people or not is up to you. If cleaning out the junk drawer in your house is a spiritual experience, that’s ok! Ultimately, you get to decide what is best for you. The sooner you figure that out, the happier you will be.

Pisces: 2nd house / 8th house

Money vs Mystery

The saying goes “Comparison is the thief of happiness”! Sometimes fortune is on your side. Your great Aunt you never knew passes away and leaves you her estate. Next thing you know you are living on a yacht dosing in the Sun when. . . you wake up! It was all a dream, or was it? Sometimes knowing what is your stuff and what is others is half the battle. You won’t regret spending a little extra time sorting all that out over the next couple months.
