July 2024
It has been a busy astrological month. Astrology aside, Summer is always a time of rapid growth and an overall busy buzz. Opportunities abound but it can quickly get overwhelming. If you can handle the pressure there is sure to be a breakthrough. If you can’t there might be a break down. And sometimes a breakthrough involves a breakdown, so hang on to your britches, a Mars-Uranus conjunction is in town.
These horoscopes are specific to your rising sign. Your rising sign is the Zodiac sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at the time of your birth and occupies the 1st house of your natal chart. If you don’t know your rising sign you can go to astro-seek.com and look up your birth chart. The house listed under your rising sign is the house where the Mars-Uranus conjunction falls in your natal chart this month.
Aries — 2nd House
If you feel an urge to buy a lottery ticket you should probably do it. This might be the big one that changes everything. If it doesn’t though, don’t sweat it. Winning the lottery ruins peoples lives more often than it helps. But if that dud has you heading back to the gas station to buy another ticket, stop and save yourself the suffering and empty wallet. Hungry ghosts are never satisfied.
Taurus — 1st House
A rebellious and defiant attitude is not necessarily a bad thing. It can grant you freedom and liberation from the same old tired patterns. However, if those same traits lead to a wayward and restless spirit you are sure to eventually lash out - against yourself! There are enough people in the world to call your enemy. Don’t let your own self be one of them.
Gemini — 12th House
Being lost these days is a privilege. It probably means that you were doing something adventurous and spontaneous. If you were just headed to the bank then you might want to get yourself checked out. Either way, as the now cliche bumper sticker says, “not all who wonder are lost.” It’s the journey not the destination anyway, right?
Cancer — 11th House
The word martial, as in Martial Arts, comes form the root word “Mars”. Most martial artists train with relentless dedication to a craft they will never use. This is because they know that the fight you always win is the fight you never fought. Now would be a great time to use your intuition to make sure that you are nowhere near that looming situation, group, or “friend” that always makes you mad.
Leo — 10th House
You’ve done all the things to preserve your public reputation and make sure people “like you”. The only problem is that in the meantime you have let down the only person that really matters - yourself! So the next time you tie yourself up in a knot trying to make sure you do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reason, stop and ask yourself - who exactly am I doing this for anyway?
Virgo — 9th House
What is the biggest blockage to spiritual, intellectual, or even financial advancement in one’s life? Laziness! Virgo, I’m not implying you are lazy. No one would ever accuse a Mercury ruled sign of laziness. But if you have a goal in mind this month the only person capable of making mercurial magic happen is you.
Libra — 8th House
Planets in the 8th house are symbolically waiting for something to happen. This is why traditionally it was called “the idle place”. Mission driven Mars does not like to wait around. And without something to do, Mars will get into mischief. As my Grandmother used to say, “idle hands are the devils playground!” So if you start feeling antsy this month, get your hands into a project.
Scorpio — 7th House
A deep well may provide the purest spring water but there may also be creepy crawly things lurking down there as well. Those spooky spiders need a home too. They provide the benefit of balance to the world. No spiders, too many flies. To many flies, disease begins to spread. The importance of this metaphor is integration. A thriving ecosystem, be it earthly or ethereal, must have balance.
Sagittarius — 6th House
I may have said this here before but Sagittarius is actually the most rebellious sign of the Zodiac. Half man half horse, the Centaur’s character arcs toward the duality of beast and man. Their attempt to incorporate the bestial with the humane is a feat that would leave any mere mortal dismayed. Sagittarius, cut yourself some slack and realize rebellion is in your nature. Leave it up to the rest of humanity to find humility in the human experience.
Capricorn — 5th House
Here we are again Capricorn, another go-round the Mulberry bush of the mysteries of modern man. Why do we do what we do? Does it even matter? Stop trying to make sense of things and just lean into the cathartic experience of pure expression. You will be surprised what comes to the surface and you may even feel better afterwards.
Aquarius — 4th House
The 4th house is considered by Ancient Astrologers the most hidden place in the chart. It is the place where all the planets go before starting their climb back towards the eastern horizon. Because of this, it is also symbolic of one’s roots and the hidden things in life that support us. Sometimes it is the most hidden things in our life that are the most important. Be it ritual, rage, or rebellion, whatever is percolating below the surface of your psyche must not be dismissed.
Pisces — 3rd House
Do you have one of those closets that you open just enough to shove the next thing in before that last thing falls out? The modern world has embed us with lots of “stuff”. Just go drive around a neighborhood on a Sunday afternoon when everyone has their garage doors open and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Ok, so here is the trick - next time you get really mad, channel that anger towards all the “stuff” in your life and start throwing it out (or donate it)! You haven’t used it for years and you won’t miss it. Trust me.
